Immigration Insights – September Edition 2024

Late summer is here, and we’re enjoying the last warm days while the crisp autumn evenings start to settle in. As we look forward to an exciting fall, we are thrilled to welcome many new talents arriving in Sweden.

Advisory Services

We want to take this opportunity to remind all our clients about the advisory services we offer. Don’t hesitate to reach out and schedule a consultation with our expert advisors. They will guide you through the processes, optimize your opportunities, and ensure you have the best start for the upcoming season.

Blue Card

We also want to share some important updates regarding upcoming changes. The government has proposed new legislation to improve conditions for highly qualified workers through the implementation of the revised Blue Card Directive. The new directive is designed to enhance Sweden’s ability to attract and retain highly qualified professionals while facilitating their mobility within the EU.   Key proposals include:

  • Lowering the salary threshold for obtaining an EU Blue Card,
  • Expanding eligibility to more categories of individuals, and
  • Increasing the opportunities to switch from other types of residence permits to an EU Blue Card.

These proposed legislative changes are expected to take effect on January 1, 2025, and we will keep you updated throughout the process. This is a significant development that will impact both employers and highly qualified workers in Sweden and across the EU. At Human Entrance, we are optimistic about these changes and look forward to further advancements in this direction. 🔗 Download the proposal here:https://lnkd.in/dSx6HRiJ
